Today on our 2012 Hyundai Elantra, we're going to be taking a look at the Rhino-Rack 2100 Series Roof Rack, consisting of part numbers DS126B, that's going to be the actual roof rack with the 49 inch long bars, and the 2500 series legs, and part number DK301, this is the custom fit kit for the Hyundai Elantra. The Rhino-Rack roof rack system is great for carrying a wide variety of objects on your roof and possibly freeing up some space in your car. Another nice feature about this roof rack system are these locking end caps here, so once you have this installed, it's going to be secured to your roof. The bars are nice and sturdy and have a carrying capacity of 165 pounds once you have them installed, although you always want to double check with your vehicle's manual to make sure your roof can withstand that weight. Now that we've gone over some of the features of the roof rack system, let's go ahead and show you how it installs. We have our front one installed, let's go ahead and finish up on the rear here. We'll first flip our bar upside down and get the proper measurement for our strips here. Now, to adjust these along our bar here, we're going to have to loosen up this screw using the included torquing tool.
Put it in there and turn it to the left to loosen it up. This will enable us to slide it to where we need. Now normally, you would have a strip that comes with it that would snap into place and you would cut it when it's at its proper measurement, but for today's purposes, we're just going to go ahead and use a measuring tape. Now, you'll find this measurement in the instructions. And we'll tighten it down.
This'll be the same measurement for the other side as well. Next, we'll install our fit kit. We'll take our rubber pad . Now these are numbered. Make sure the proper pad goes on the proper leg and always make sure that the arrow is facing out away from the center of the vehicle. On these, you'll just push into place and once those are pushed into place, we'll go ahead and install our clamp.
We'll first remove our screw here then we'll line up a clamp and reinsert our screw. We'll just get it finger tight to hold our clamp in place. Now we're ready to set this on the roof of our vehicle. Next we'll open our rear doors, just set it down in the vicinity of where our bars are going to be, then we'll measure our distance between the bars from center of the bar to center of the bar. You'll find this measurement in your instructions. Once they're even, we'll start tighting 00:02:31 them down.
We'll snug it up first against our door. We'll do this on both sides and then we'll tighten it down the rest of the way, giving about five or six turns each time when we go back and forth until it's completely tightened down. You'll know that it's tightened down because the curved portion here, once you're pushing on it and tightening it down, will actually straighten out, leading you to know it's torqued properly. With everything tightened down, our final step is to put our locking caps on. Just push them on like so and lock them into place. Now we're ready to install our accessories and hit the road. And there you have it for the Rhino-Rack 2500 Series Roof Rack on our 2012 Hyundai Elantra.

Fits like a glove on my 2016 Hyundai Elantra. Install was fairly quick and painless. My dad and I installed it in about 20 minutes with no problems. I would definitely recommend installing this with two people to make sure the bars are evenly spaced on the vehicle. I love the way it looks and you can tell it is great quality. I plan to leave the rack on permanently and just change out the various gear attachments. I also bought the Rhino Rack Bike Mount and they fit perfectly together.
There is very little wind noise and you can't even hear it when the sunroof is closed. I got up to 60ish mph and only noticed some noise when the radio was off and I was actively listening for any extra noises.
I am very impressed with this roof rack already. Great price and great quality product. Can't wait to get more use out of it!
Bought this Rhino-Rack to install on my 2013 Hyundai Elantra. This product was a great value. Installation was very easy. Processing and shipping was incredibly fast. I had one little minor issue with a screw head that was stripped, and although it did not delay installation, customer service was all over it, and had a new one out to me in no time. I have purchased from etrailer.com before, and always had great product and customer service.
This is a very sturdy rack. It fits great on my car and it's easy to use.
My only issue was with the original installation. The instructions had an error with the placement of the rack feet on the crossbar. I used the dimensions given in the manual but they were off by 10 cm. I had to adjust the feet in 10 cm on each side of the crassbar for the feet to sit correctly on the roof of my car. A very minor issue.
Overall, a great rack system. The single kayak kit was easy to install and works like a charm.

Purchased the Rhino Rack and the parts. Had my local outdoor store where I bought my kayak take a look before I bought. They highly recommended this product and it was considerably less expensive than the product they offered. This product is great, a year later, still great. I highly recommend.

Easy to install and very happy with the first use of transporting my kayak with a 2011 Hyundai Elantra. Liked it enough to order another one for my wife's car. The only knock would be that the spacer length on the paperwork was incorrect for my vehicle. Once I got that correct everything came together well.
Instructions could have been a little better but the product itself is great.
This is a very rugged unit. Easy to follow instructions. Definitely would recommend for others.
Product is fine, some of the measurements were questionable. I had to do some tweaking... and I measured carefully and had another person double check before proceeding with anything.

This was a great purchase. I originally ordered roof crossbars from somewhere else and immediately returned them. They were a universal fit and were not secure at all when they were tightened down. They were from a third seller on Amazon. I found these on etrailer and I am glad that I made the purchase. I did not want to spend the money at first that these cost, but am glad that I did. The install was easy and the crossbars are very secure and hold up well with the cargo basket installed. They were well worth the money. Can't wait to try them out when we go camping. Takes a little while to assemble the rack bars.
The stickers are great I can mark the positions after measuring the distance between the bars.
One of the screws is underneath the bar; it is hard to reach to tighten the bars.
Finally, I got the roof rack installed and it looks good.
Pretty nice rack system. Held up to my 90lb canoe no problem. However a piece did fly off on the highway and the "locking" bar end cap can pull off super easy.
The directions were ok. There is some stuff you have to kind of figure out for yourself, mainly the roof trim. I plan to leave the rack on so I drilled theough the trim
Just followed all the etrailer website prompts for my naked roof Toyota Matrix and it set me up with the three packages needed- rails legs and fitkit. Installed easily enough. I like the little arrow stickers hidden in the door jams for fast re-install later. Held two 10’ kayaks on a 2 hr journey with ease.
This is a perfect fit for our 2015 Prius V with "naked" roof. Instructions were clear and accurate, and the bars are solid and able to support our canoe and kayak easily. We added the air deflector, as there was a bit of wind noise, but now there is none. Great product at much lower price than the big names.

I am still digging my Rhino Rack! In fact, this Spring I bought two sets of kayak carriers, from etrailer, of course, that attach to the Rhino-Rack. The kayak carriers are super easy to attach and use. Ive use Rhino-Rack to carry my canoe, my kayaks, building materials and even small furniture pieces.
